New Year, New Look!

I haven't been on in a few weeks because I've been busy celebrating my 35th birthday and my 12th anniversary with Scott all in the same week! I always love March because to me, it represents spring time and a new season of life emerging. That's also why I picked our wedding date back in 1996. I chose March 9th, which is less than a week after my birthday. But, it does make for an exciting and sometimes expensive month...mainly for Scott...LOL!!!! This past weekend we were lucky enough to be able to get away for two nights without the kids to celebrate our 12th wedding anniversary! I can never thank my mom and Randy enough for being able to keep all three kids for us for the entire weekend so that we could escape! The only time we ever get to spend a weekend together alone is usually in January for the annual marriage retreat hosted by our church. But, this year the church didn't have anything scheduled until October. I couldn't wait that long, since this past year has been so stressful for us and sometimes I feel like I'm going to go crazy if I don't "get out of Dodge". Since we had to cancel our original plans of going to North Carolina right after Christmas due to lack of money (what's new?), this made me super depressed as 2007 came to a close. That's another reason why I just HAD to make a way for us to get away for our anniversary this year! We stayed at a local Wyndham hotel in Orlando, since Scott works for Wyndham Resorts and we thought we would give them a try. We were going to try out the Wyndham Riverwalk Resort in Jacksonville, but Scott found out just a few weeks ago that he was supposed to go out of town all of this week for a business trip to Jacksonville. So, obviously, he didn't want to come home from Jacksonville on Sunday only to turn around Monday morning and drive right back for another week. So, we decided to just stay in town. But, it was so nice to be able to just have a relaxing weekend without worrying about what to plan for dinner for the kids or having to get home by a certain time to relieve a babysitter...LOL!!

I also got my hair style and color redone earlier in the week as a birthday gift from my mom! I hadn't had a professional hair cut in over 2 1/2 years, mainly due to money! So this was very exciting for me! It's refreshing to have a different hairstyle and highlights like I used to have several years ago! Sierra says I now look 27 years old! Haha! I wonder what made her think of that particular age?
